Main season crops are in the ground!
by Kelley and Jon on May 13, 2012
Last week, we planted most of our main season crops! Tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, winter squash, and the first round of summer squash are in the ground. Now it’s time to for us to sit back and enjoy a much needed break while the rain comes down. Since we work with the weather, we take breaks when we can (and get lots of work done when we can). Rainy days are a great time for us to recuperate and let the plants grow.

4 rows of tomatoes were planted about a week ago. Time to take hold and grow, little guys!

Our peas are flowering. Hopefully, we'll have snap peas in time for our first harvest!

Peas and arugula. In between the rows is a growing pathway (a cover crop that we planted: rye and crimson clover).

Spinach, Swiss chard, more spinach, kale... yum!

Get excited, CSA members... It won't be too long 'til the season starts!
